Does boiling water never go past 100 degrees Celsius?

when i boil water for my tea in a microwave it seems to become superheated at times,and when i drop the tea bag in the cup water that is not visibly boiling seems to shoot from the cup leaving me with a drop or two of tea in the bottom of the cup and a mess to clean up. so i'd have to say no.
